The Haunted- Jessica Verday

Hello everyone! It is almost the weekend, finally! I'll be posting a few reviews this weekend, including this one, they are all paranormal romances.

Title: The Haunted
Author: Jessica Verday
Author website: www.jessicaverday.com
Rating (1-5): 4
Cover rating: 5
Description: An impossible truth. An impossible love.

After a summer spent reclaiming her sanity and trying to forget the boy she fell in love with--the boy who must not exist, cannot exist, because she knows that he is dead--Abbey returns to Sleepy Hollow, ready to leave the ghosts of her past behind. She throws herself into her schoolwork, her perfume-making, and her friendship with Ben, her cute and funny lab partner, who just might be her ticket to getting over Caspian once and for all.

But Abbey can never get over Caspian, and Caspian has no choice but to return to her side, for Capian is a Shade, and Abbey is his destiny. They are tied not only to each other, but also to the town of Sleepy Hollow, and to the famous legend that binds their fates--a legend whose dark truths they are only beginning to guess...

This book did start out a little slow, but the writing was lovely. You could feel Abbey's desperation, her depression. At the beginning I was also bouncing back and forth between Caspian and Ben, until I finally settled on Caspian.

Caspian is still as sweet and charming as ever. I so want him to be real, so I can meet him. He sounds so adorable and charming. Especially when he looks up at Abbey through his bangs because he's bashful. Too bad, he's dead, but whatever, he's still cute. And, the sexual tension still runs insanely high between Abbey and Caspian. Actually it runs higher between them because he is dead. I mean can you imagine not being able to touch he person your in love with? I'd go crazy, just like Abbey does. I also love that Caspian is jealous of Ben. He still tries to be all boy-like and say things to him even though Ben can't hear him. The situations Abbey finds herself in with the two of them are hilarious.

The second book of series are usually my least favorite because they are kind of like "in between" novels, but I loved this book. I think I might actually like it more than The Hollow. Verday brought back the haunting romance in this thriller and the last line will leave you begging for more.
