Hello! I am back, finally. I apologize for my absence. I've been so caught up in finals, the holiday, work, blah, blah, blah. I am back though and I am back with a bang! Lots of reviews, a 2010 favorites/wrap up!

I found this series earlier this year and fell madly in love with it. I couldn't be happier with the third installment. I still love Ben. Dear, dear Ben. He pisses me off sometimes because, well, let's face it; he's a boy, and they can be idiots sometimes. Ben is stubborn and has too much pride at times, but he still makes me swoon! :)

I am so intrigued by Camelia's gift. The idea of psychometry is so interesting and I would love to know more about this subject. I haven't ever read a series quite like this one. It's original, romantic, scary, and thrilling.

I liked that Adam appeared more in this book, but he just doesn't do it for me. He sounds incredibly good looking, but I don't think he is a threat for Ben. There is so much mystery in this book that I'm fearful I'll give something important away without meaning too. I will say that in between chapters there are awesome crossword puzzles that I tried to figure out! I figured out most the words, but not all. Although, you'll know the answers at the end.

I can't wait for the next book. I know it will be as thrilling as the previous. I recommend this series for anyone who is looking for something interesting and new!

This week's question: What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby?
Well reading is my main hobby, but I love to shop for pretty much anything. Clothes, purses, shoes! I also love to watch movies. I really can't think of any other hobbies.

"What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?"
Oh geeze, umm.... I mostly trust the blogs I read, but I did not like Eragon. That wasn't really too hyped up, but I know several bloggers who love that series. I can't even finish the book. I like The Summer I Turned Pretty series, but not as much as many of my blogging friends, and the same goes for the Vampire Academy series. I think those receive too much praise, but that is my opinion. And, I read them anyway.

Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler

Hello! I know it has been forever. I am so sorry about that. I was having computer troubles and then I really needed a break from the Internet. I have barely touched my computer recently. I have been reading though, as always. So, lots and lots of reviews to come.

Once again Sarah Ockler has amazed me. I fell head over heals in love with her debut, Twenty Boy Summer. Now, I'm even more in love with Fixing Delilah. The writing flows beautifully on every page. It's almost impossible to leave Delilah's story. I recently got a job at Barnes and Noble. I was fortunate enough to be able to shelve this book. I was so excited holding them in my hands. I bought one right when I got off work!

I really connected with Delilah. She is impulsive and stubborn, kind of like me. I act or speak before I think sometimes, just as Delilah does in this novel. I understand where she is coming from. I get why she just wanted to forget. I understood why she used Finn. I understood her. Delilah was so real for me. I could feel  her there next to me, letting me into her life, letting me know her secrets. She is an amazing character. She is perfectly built with gestures, flaws, and human emotions. I also adore her name.

Every character in the novel is astounding. They each add more to the story pushing you further along, making you love them more. As soon as Patrick turned his hat around, I fell in love. I wanted to gossip with Emily over lattes. I wanted Rachel to read my cards and give me insight. I wanted to pull Claire away from her desk. I wished I could have known Stephanie and Nana.

This novel is filled with family drama, love, compassion, anger, and friendship. I will read this novel over and over again. I hope to read more and more of Sarah Ockler's words in the future.

I lost my first follower this week. I have to admit that it made me sad, but I lve blogging and I'd keep doing it if I didn't have any followers. Of course I'd just be rambling to myself, but that's okay. I don't like to lose followers, but you can't keep every single one of them. I have only stopped following one blog and that is only because I didn't speak the language he posts in most the time. The first time I saw his blog, his posts were in English, but after that they were all in Portugese. And, well I don't speak nor can I read Portugese. So, I stopped following his blog. That is the only blogged I have stopped following so far.

As many of you know this month is National Novel Writing Month. I am participating this year. It is my first year participating. My reviews may slow down this month because I will be focusing on NaNo, but I am hoping to still continue with a review Monday-Thursday and Blog Hop/Follow Friday on Fridays. As soon as I started to hear about this book awhile ago through the blogging world I knew that I absolutely had to get my hands on as soon as possible. So, on the day it came out, I was at my local Barnes and Noble at 10:00 AM (when they open). Nightshade hadn’t even been stocked yet, but I got my copy. I’m sure the cashier thought I was insane. I was so giddy and happy. I had this beautiful, lovely book in my hand. I mean the gorgeous, sparkly purple cover with calla lilies. And hand cut pages? Oh gosh, this book is so, so beautiful.


The inside, the words, were just as beautiful as the outside. I was captivated in this story from page one. Cremer jumped right into action. I loved it. The wolves sound insanely beautiful. I love how they weren’t referred to as werewolves, but as Guardians. This novel is a new interesting twist on wolves and their keepers. Cremer has created a new world that readers will adore and yearn for after it’s over.

I have never had trouble picking between two love interests in books. I am always on one side. I always make my distinction from the beginning and hardly ever change. But, I could not decide which boy I liked more. I mean we have Shay, cute, quirky, honest Shay. And, as you all know, I’m a hopeless romantic, and this is the choice for the hopeless romantics. Forbidden love? I am a sucker for forbidden love. I fell in love with him over and over again. Every time he turned one side of his mouth up in a smile I swooned for the boy I drew up in my mind. But, then there is Ren. Oh dear Lord, Ren. He makes me blush! He’s so flippin’ sexy and irresistible. And, he cares for Calla. He really loves her and would do anything for her, so much so that it makes my heart ache. I have a soft spot for Ren. I also have high hopes for him in the coming novels.

Calla is a badass. She is such a strong warrior, but a beautiful girl. I feel so bad for her. These two sexy boys vying for her attention. Okay, maybe I don’t feel that bad for her. Although, I know she is confused about who to choose. Love or loyalty? I respect all of her decisions and thought processes. She is a strong character with an amazing voice.

Cremer created a wonderful world filled with a cast of interested characters. I can’t wait for the next installment in this trilogy. This is one of my favorite series.

Well, I hear a lot of rave about this series. And, honestly, it is something that I don't understand. Do you ever have those books that everyone loves and you hate? Or a book everyone hates and you adore? Well, this is one of those series that I don't like, but it seems like everyone else does.

I liked this novel a whole lot more than the first novel and I think that is because we also got to read from Jeremy's point of view. It gave me a little breather away from Bellie. I think my problem is Bellie. She annoys the crap out of me. I can't pin point why, but she is just one of those people that I don't enjoy spending a lot of time with. I like her, but I can only take her in little increments, but I find that I try to rush through this novel so I can finish Bellie's story. I want to finish quickly do I don't have come back to her. I really enjoyed Jeremy's point of view. I felt like I could breathe when he was telling the story.

These novels are well written though. I enjoy the plot. I love Jeremy. I think Conrad is a dipshit and isn't worth Bellie's time. Bellie annoys me, but I feel the need to read these novels. I know I will be reading the last novel in the trilogy. Although I probably won't buy it. I'll check it out from the library.

Wow. Just wow. This book is powerful. First off you need to know that there are a lot of religious undertones in this novel. I am not an extremely religious person. I believe in a higher power, but I go to church once a year, Christmas eve. And I have my problems with the Christian religion. But, my beliefs aren't important. I just think that it'd be better for you to understand where I am on the whole religious thing. Although I am not very religious, this novel makes you believe in something better. It makes you believe in God and all the beauty that creates this world.

The main character Atticus, AKA Attie, talks to Jesus after her accident. She sees him and speaks to him about everything. When I read the first conversation between Attie and Jesus, I'll be honest, I rolled me eyes and wondered to myself "how in the world did I, me of all people, start reading a religious book?" But, I kept on. I thought from that conversation with Jesus that I would not enjoy this novel and I would do a lot eye rolling. But, I was wrong. I was gripped throughout the entire thing. It is a powerful, hearting breaking, and hopeful story about recovery. And, what it takes to recover and forgive. This novel really does make you believe that there is something better out there.

Attie is hilarious, witty, spunky, stubborn, and her own person. I usually am very annoyed at girls that cry all the time, but although she cried a lot, I was not annoyed with her. It may have been because the pain she was going through. I loved meeting her character. I respect her decisions. I admire her recovery process. Wow. I am amazed at her strength and courage.

One thing I sincerely enjoyed about this novel is that it creates the south in such a realistic way. I suppose that is because the author is from the south herself. I couldn't help but laugh when she described OU, OSU, and UT football and the hatred they have for each other. Football is a religion down here. I am not exaggerating about this. I loved that that came through at that part in the novel. I loved the spelling of probably. I loved the southern lingo. It was real and believable.

A very pleasant surprise that made me happy was that it alternated POVs at certain points. I adored reading from Riley's point of view. He was so insanely sweet. I loved when he messed up because it is exactly how a real boy would mess up. His protective nature was amazing. And he is honorable. I loved him. He is so realistic. I can't rave enough enough about him. A true gentleman, so adorable! And if I was ever in Attie's situation, I would love for a boy to do what he did for Attie while she was in the hospital. So amazing. Oh wow! :)

I'm so happy I heard about this book through the blogging world. I recommend this book to everyone. I hope that the religious aspects won't scare you off, because honestly. It's truly amazing. I hope to read more of this author in the future. I do not know if she has any other books planned, but I know if she does that I will be reading her powerful writing again. This is a novel I will be reading way more than one more time.

Unearthly Cynthia Hand

I adored this novel. It is so much fun and interesting. It was definitely a new take on angels and all things related to angels. I'm pretty sure that this will be a series, but I'm really not sure. The authors website is not quite up and running yet. Which is why I did not provide the authors website.

Every character in this novel is strong and different. I adored every single one of them, but especially Tucker. Oh, hmmm....that boy sent butterflies into my tummy. Oh goodness, my heart is fluttering just thinking about him! I also really like Christian. It was also interesting because Christian and Clara were the same names from Stay and I read that novel RIGHT before I read this novel. Christian seemed sweet and good looking, but too perfect.

Clara, I love her sense of humor. She's witty and funny. I have a lot of unanswered questions about her and her family. I hope these can be answered in a series. I want to know where the story will take these characters. I think there is a huge potential for all of them. Also I love that this novel was set in the mid-west. We don't read a lot about that part of the country. This is a fabulous debut novel that I will be buying my own copy of.

I did not enjoy this book very much. It is way too predictable for me. Although it is well written, it was not a story that grabbed my attention. I found myself to be bored at times throughout the novel.
High school is an ugly place, I found it pretty much to be Hell on Earth. (Yes, that is an exaggeration.) But, I think this novel is TOO exaggerated. I did appreciate the fact the school tried to intervene with the bullying.

April was an interesting character. There were plenty of times that I really didn't care for her though. A lot of things that came out of her mouth made me want to slap her. I didn't care for her love interest either. I think he's an ass. The girls are bitches. My favorite character is Delvin.

If you would like to read a book that is very similar to Mean Girls then this book is the book for you. I'm happy I had a chance to read it, but I will no be buying it once it comes out in 2011.

I was lucky enough to snag an ARC of this novel. I am so, so happy I did. Deb Caletti's books are really hit or miss for me. I love some, but don't really like others. This is by far my favorite Deb Caletti novel. I can't even express how beautiful this novel is.

Caletti weaves an intricate story that stems far beyond a troubled relationship. There is so much drama, so much real life. The tension is palpable. This novel is an emotional roller coaster. It takes you from happy to sad, scared to joyful, laughing to crying. She makes every relationship so real. And, not just the relationship between Clara and Christian, but all the other characters as well. I love how she wrote the novel. Parts in present, parts in past, all leading up to the end. This is one of those life changing books. It some small way it sinks into your soul and speaks to you. It makes you think. You learn about yourself. You learn harsh truths of others. It's stunning.

The relationship between Clara and Christian is magnificent. Not magnificent in the way that makes you swoon, but it is written magnificently. It's real and true. Caletti must have done plenty of research for this novel. I've seen an obessive relationship up close. It over took my family for quite some time. I remember the fear. I remember the angst. I remember the feeling of being competely helpless not being able to help these people. And, you totally get those feelings reading this novel. Clara is so strong and wonderful. I can't imagine actually being in a relationship like that even though my family has been involved in one. I know these relationships happen everyday, but I can't even fathom what it must be like to be in it.

Even though this novel is a heavy read on your heart, it will also lift it and make it happy. There are light points. Theres love. A healthy love, not only an obessive psycho love. The characters are brilliant. The writing is beautiful. The plots are real. I will be buying this book for my shelves next April and I will be reading it again and again.

This is a novel I'll continue to read over and over again. It's beautiful and tragic. Lovely and crazy. Romantic and terrifying. I can't imagine a world without love. If I was forced to live in that world, I'd be an invalid. No doubt about that. There are so many twists and turns. This world is ugly yet beautiful. The fight to keep love alive, to keep in going in a world where it's forbidden is terribly romantic and amazing. It's not 2011 yet, but I know it will be one of my favorite reads of the year. And probably many years after that. This is the most romantic and powerful love stories since Romeo and Juliet. Although I know there will be many mixed opinions about this novel, please read it and form your own opinion before turning away.

I'm nervous to describe Lena and Alex to you. I'm nervous to give away the secrets of this book.  Every page is a rush, every page holds something new. It's really a discovery you need to discover on your own instead of from a review. It's funny, terrifying, adorable, passionate, cruel. But, the characters are lively and real. The drastic differences are described with utter beauty. The teenagers are wonderful. The feelings and emotions. I love Lena and Alex. I love Hana. I love this book so, so much.

Oliver describes falling in love perfectly. The feelings, emotions, rushes, all of the first times. It's utterly perfect. I was smiling and laughing, remembering what it was like to fall in love. This novel contains one of the most romantic scenes I have ever read. This novel will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your nails dying to flip to that next page. It will leave you breathless and swooning. This is a truly thrilling novel.

Ellie is a badass. There is no question about that. I adore her character, she's strong, fearless, but still a teenage girl at heart. When her past is revealed she doesn't believe it. She tries everything in her power to write it off as a dream. I LOVED that, because I honestly think that so many novels the characters just so easily accept their fate. And, well, let's be honest. Teenagers? Accepting a fate designed for them without a say? Yeah, just not going to happen. I admired that she was reluctant to believe. And, after she did accept her badass nature, she still didn't change. She was fun, funny, sarcastic, and a girl.
 
Will is so sexy. Those eyes. Oh my goodness, saaaa-woooooon. He is so protective of Ellie, but he still pushes her buttons. He's a little odd and doesn't exactly fit in. He's so mysterious. You think you have him figured out? You don't. I promise. He's so mysterious and sexy. It's difficult to review him without giving a lot away. He's full of surprises. He's sweet and lovely though. And crush worthy.
 
I think it's so interesting how concepts of angels, demons, and all the things that go along with it are interpreted in so many ways in different novels. The same names and concepts come up, but they ideas are drastically different. This is a wonderful read that I highly recommend. I think it will be one of the most talked about books of 2011.

Holy crepes! I am in love, so, so madly in love with this novel. In the past week, I have read it twice. I simply can't get enough of it. Every word, every line, every sentence, every page warms my heart. J'adore this novel! J'adore! J'adore! J'adore! I wish I could say more in French, but I truly don't remember anything from my high school French classes. :( Anywho...
Stephanie Perkin's debut novel has me hooked. It is in my top 5 favorite book of all time. I actually think it may be competing with my favorite novel of all time. (Just Listen- Sarah Dessen) Perkins writing reminds me of Sarah Dessen. Every word is beautiful. I know I will be following Perkins career for as long as she is writing. I am already desperately waiting for her next novel, Lola and the Boy Next Door.
 
Anna is a wonderful character. She's smart and funny. I love her passion for films, it reminds me of my passion for books. I'm also jealous of her, I would have LOVED to spend my senior year abroad. But, I do understand her reluctance at first. When something feels forced, you'll always want to apposite. I thought her trepidation to explore the city was funny. She made me giggle. I adored her sense of humor. She's a character that everyone can find something to relate to. She finds her way into your heart and stays there.
 
And Etienne St. Clair, I think I bloody love you and your international self! Almost every time you are featured on a page I am laughing out loud! You're a fabulous friend and boyfriend. Witty, funny, charming, quirky. It's no wonder I fell in love with you after your first line. He's different from other boys in novels. He's not the sports jock. He's intelligent, damaged, and he has an accent. I mean really, could you be anymore wonderful St. Clair? On top of all your wonderful traits you have to have that accent that makes all the girls swoon.
 
Stephanie Perkins, will you please write forever? You are one of my new favorite authors. I will be following your career step by step. You amaze me. Your writing will take you wonderful places. I can't wait for December 2, so everyone else can read your stunning novel. And so I can buy my "finished copy." By the way, you described France so beautifully. It is exactly how I imagine it in my mind. I can't wait until I can visit in person, but for now I have Anna's view of France! :)

This book was sort of like The Pretty Little Liars series for me. The first book in the PLL series I liked, but was kind of indifferent about until towards the end. The end of that first book is what hooked me on that first series. This is the same thing that happened with this novel. I liked it, I was interested. I definitely wanted to keep reading. The characters and the story interested me, but the end. Oh man, the end is what hooked me. Hook, line, and sinker. I will be reading this series until the end. I know it will be torture to wait for the next novel. I can't wait to find out what happens.

I liked how the reader learns Sutton's story. How we learn about her life. Emma is kind and sweet. I can't fathom the strength it must take to pretend to be someone else. I felt so bad for her for her past. And, I have high hopes for her love interest in future novels.

I don't know how Shepard weaves this intricate web of deceit, fear, and lies. Her novels fascinate me. Her characters live in a world I can't understand, but yet they're easy to relate to, they're real. This novel comes out in January. If you enjoyed the PPL series, then you will enjoy this as well. Pick this book up to meet the new pretty girls, in a new town, and with a new way to lie.

I had no idea what to expect from this book. And, whatever I did expect, it was pretty much the opposite. It was so insanely intense. It took about 30 or 40 pages for me to start to understand the way Grace spoke. But, once I did I dove right into her story and her world.

Elizabet Scott always amazes me. She can write something so sweet and funny like Bloom, then she can write this world that is ugly, harsh, and cruel. Her talent and mind is amazing. She did a fabulous job telling a world of war and hate. It is amazing how similar two enemies are to each other. Yes, their beliefs were worded differently, but is essence they are the same. I enjoyed this book very, very much. Although, it is not my favorite. I can't deny how powerful it is. And, I can't deny how talented Elizabeth Scott is.

Grace as a character is so strong. Her fight for life is stunning. I can't say I'd do the same as she did in this story, but I relate to her survival instincts. I love, love, love how the story ended.

First thing I want to say is I love the name Charlie for a girl. I adore it! I also adored Charlie's character. She's strong and good-hearted. I never had trouble in middle school, but in high school. Oh dear, that was hell. I rejoiced the day I graduated. I couldn't have been happier. My sophomore year, I wanted to change schools more than anything, but I can be a tad bit defiant. And me leaving the school is what they wanted, so I didn't. (Although, I can't complain too much about high school, because I met the greatest person in my life. He's also the best person I know. So, yes my high school was filled with bitches, but I met the person who changed me forever. And, showed me the good in people again.) I don't back down easily. And, Charlie doesn't either, at least she learns not too. I was very proud of her. I'm extremely happy she made new, real friends.


Will is amazing and sounds super cute. Sydney, I love that girl!! She's a kick ass character with a lot of spunk and heart. This was a sweet story about the evil of girls. Wiseman did a fabulous job portraying the real life of high school and teenagers. I suggest you try to find this book in your local library. It's a fun and sweet read.

I recommend this book to literally every single person that walks this planet. This book is stunning, beautiful, terrifying, heart breaking. Yes, you will cry. But, please, please, do not let that turn you off from this book. The sadness is why I waited for a long time to read this book. That was a mistake, even though it is sad, it's hopeful, romantic, sweet. I have read so many books since I started reading in second grade, but this is the most gorgeous book I have ever read. The story, the plot line, the character, the words that flooded off the page. My dear God, it was beautiful.

I wish classes all around could read this book and learn of the love from families and friends. Families aren't always immediate, they can extend outside the immediate family. I could feel every person's heartbreak and love. I can't even imagine Mia's choice. She was strong throughout the whole novel. I applaud her for every thought process of her choice. Adam, his utter love and devotion towards Mia was amazing. The people of her family coming together in this process stunned me. And, Willow? Wow the only thing I can say about her is badass! This book portrays one of my favorite things I have learned in this life- love never dies. It is eternal. It out lives death and heartache. It overrules the negative and is always present at the important times.

Moral of this review. Go out and buy this now. Yes, buy, it will need to live on your bookshelves forever! If I was an extremely rich person, I would buy every copy possible and shove them at people until they read this amazing novel. Gayle Forman, your writing is something to be worshipped. You have been gifted with beautiful words. I am awestruck. And, I am bursting at my seams to read Where She Went.

Mini Reviews

I read quite a few books today. I woke up around 4 a.m. with a pounding headache. I couldn't go back to sleep, couldn't listen to anything, couldn't look at any lights. I hate migraines, but since I was pretty limited and stuck in my dark room most the day I read, A LOT! Eight books! I'm going to post a mini review for most of them. So, here goes!

Title: Rich and Mad

This book was extremely different from I thought it was going to be. I assumed it would be a light, fun read about firsts. I was intrigued by this because, well, we all have our firsts. First love. First time having sex. First time experience in a lot of things as we try to find our ways through our adolescent years. Boy, was I wrong. I did enjoy the some of the moral of the story. Sex can involve love, it doesn't just have to be about sex. I enjoyed Rich and Maddy evolving into a relationship. I chuckled a few times. William Nicholson is an English author and I like an English sense of humor. I think what turned me off of this book was the writing about the sex. I am not against sex in a novel. I know sex is a reality amongst teens, but in a YA book I expect it to be done in a tasteful manner. This was on the vulgar side. A sex scene was described in detail. My jaw dropped when I started to read that scene. It is the most racy sex scene I have read in a YA novel. This scene is meant for adult romance books in my opinion. On Barnes and Noble's website, it says this is for ages 14 and up. I have to disagree with that. I think that is too young for this type of sex scene. I recommend picking up this read with knowledge of what to expect. If I had known what to expect I might have enjoyed it more.

I didn't really enjoy this novel. The writing was well done, the plot nicely executed, the characters had substance, but I couldn't get into the story. The characters were juniors in high school, but I felt as if they're behavior and views ranged around seventh grade. I don't think the author captured a real high school social life, but then again these characters went to an all girls school. Maybe socializing is different there? I don't know, I don't think it would be, but I don't know. The ending ended very quickly and abruptly. If this sounds interesting to you, I recommend trying to find it in your library or on Pulse it.

Title: Blue Bloods Series

I am not putting the description because I am reviewing the series as a whole, not just one novel. I read the entire Blue Bloods series today including the Misguided Angel that is set to release later this month. I enjoyed this series a lot. I loved the tie in of angels, demons, and vampires. It was a new take on all of these paranormal creatures. I also can't get over how cool the history plots were. It fascinated me how De La Cruz dated these vampires back through time, but especially the Mayflower and the colonies. I love history, I think it's interesting, so that is why I loved this plot point. The characters are great. They all have strong voices and personalities. This is a wonderful series that I recommend to paranormal and mystery lovers.

Torment- Lauren Kate

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend before we all have to head back to school or work. I had a lot of fun this weekend at ATxTBF. I love, love, love seeing and meeting authors, getting new books, hearing about new books. I love the YA lit world! :) Anyway on to the review!

I loved Fallen, the first in this series, and I loved Torment even more. Luce has stayed the same stubborn girl that I've come to love and care for. Daniel is still frustrating, sexy, and glorious. I'm still nervous about Cam, but find him undeniably beautiful. I was happy to find old and new characters in this installment.

Miles, I kinda fell in love with his floppy brown hair and charming smile! He'd be so, so much better for Luce. And, it's no surprise that he cares for Luce, but I still can't completely shake Daniel even though I spent most of the novel mad at him. I also feel as if I know Miles more than I know Daniel. Daniel is so mysterious and is hard to get to know. But, Miles is easy, charming, an sweet. It is no wonder Luce has an easy relationship with him. I'm now on two sides. I want Luce with Miles and Daniel. I can't decide yet! I mean I obviously know she's meant for Daniel, but Miles? Sweet Miles, I love him!

Even though we all know Daniel is the love of Luce's lives, I loved that she doubted their relationship. Questioned his motives, questioned him, questioned everything. It made it so much more real, so much more believable.

There are still so many questions left unanswered that I can't wait to figure out. This book does kind of leave me frustrated though. Everything Luce hears is so cryptic. No one tells her anything. Not the angels, not the demons, not the nephilim. I want answers, like, now! I'll be anxiously awaiting Passion, the next installment.

Oh, and I can't ignore this gorgeous cover. It's one of my favorite covers and it perfects this story.

Austin Teen Book Fest!

Hello guys! Today was an amazing day at the Austin Teen Book Festival! I had so much fun!! Also, 35 books?! Iyiyiyiy! This was like a dream come true! :) I do need to thank my boyfriend who bought all these books for me as an early Christmas gift! I also need to thank him for carrying 2 of my 3 very, very heavy bags around all day. And, basically just being there with me all day when books and reading really aren't his thing. :)

Mini Challenge Two & Contest for Sea!

I would choose Daniel Radcliffe for my celebrity date! :) I simply adore him. I think he is so, so cute. Maybe, a tad bit short, but hey, that's okay. I am also a wee bit obsessed with Harry Potter. So, on our date we would go (as the rules say) a movie and dinner. But, the movie would be his premier of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. We would spend all night obsessing over Harry Potter and his amazing accent! We'd have a yummy dinner of sushi, because that is what I am craving right now. Crab puffs, phili rolls, cali rolls, and Alaska rolls. Yummmmm! For dessert? Fun-fetti cookies! :) YUM! Also at the end of the date he would make all my dreams come true by giving me my LONG overdue acceptance letter to Hogwarts! :) Yes, I am a nerd, but that is A okay! Besides I don't need a sexy celebrity to take me on a nice date, I already have boy for that. :)

First off, I want to say why I gave the cover a middle-grade rating. I did that because I think it would have been so much better with golden tones instead of blue tones. Her tail is described with gold, her eyes shine gold. I wish that could have been shown, but that is whatever.

This book is amazing. I laughed from the beginning until the end, out loud! Which got me some weird looks while I was running on the elliptical this morning. Once I read that first page this morning I couldn't force myself to put it down. Lily, oh sweet, Lily, I love that girl. She is so funny and goofy! I simply adore her mermaid/fishy lingo! The only thing I didn't like about her was her blindness! I kept yelling at her, "come on girl, open your eyes!" But, then again she is a teenage girl, and aren't we all blind sometimes? Especially for what we really want, but won't admit.

Now on to the sexy, Quince. He made me swoon from his first line, which may be a weird first reaction, but I love when boys can joke with you. He couldn't help, but to push Lily's buttons, and I loved that! I loved that he wasn't that sensitive guy that says all the right things. He pisses her off, but he can only do that, because he truly knows her. He pays attention, he's a real boy that is pining after a girl.

Now, Brody on the other hand. Yes, sure he sounds handsome, but from that first conversation with him. I was turned off and wanted Quince back on the page. Good thing I never had to read too long without him. See, even as I'm writing this I can't stay focused on Brody, only Quince.

One of the only other things that I didn't like was how quick people believed she was a mermaid. Now, honestly if someone told me they were a mermaid, I would hope it was true. Because if I was a paranormal creature I would want to b a mermaid because I've always been comfortable in the water. Swimming was the only sport I've ever enjoyed. So, if someone told me they were a mermaid I would hope that it was possible, but most people aren't me. I don't think the average person would simply believe in mermaids or other paranormal creatures. But, hey, I bet a lot of you are still waiting for your Hogwarts letter, just like me.

Please, read this book, enjoy this wonderful story that only tells of beautiful places, people, and creatures. And then, yearn for the second installment.

1) Shift By Jeri Smith-Ready (May 3, 2011). I want this book so badly! I fell in love with Shade from the first page. It's a very, very interesting story line. It's unique and I can't wait to continue the story with Aura.

2) What Happened to Goodbye? by Sarah Dessen. (Summer 2011) It's by Sarah Dessen, need I say more? Sarah Dessen is my favorite author, I basically worship her books. I'm dying to get my hands on her next novel. It's been too long since a new story of hers.

3) So Much Closer by Susane Colasanti. (May 2011) I love her novels, they are so, so real, beautiful, and touching. Her tales of soul mates always bring a smile to my face.

4) Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. (September 2011) I'm begging to know what is going to happen with Tessa, Jem, and Will. I connect with Tessa so much. I love her spunk and utter passion for books.

5) City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare (April 5, 2011). Since I leaned that The Mortal Instruments series was being continued beyond book 3, this has been on my reading list. I have missed Jace, Clary, and even Isabel. I think the next few books are going to hold some interesting things for Simon! I want! I want! I want!

There are so many more I want in 2011, but today these are my top 5! They may be different tomorrow, but today these are the ones I'm dying for!

I have been wanting to read this book for a long time, but never took the plunge to buy. I am so glad I did. My only reget is that I didn't buy it sooner. I liked the spin with the father being the pastor. I don't think Grace would have worked as a character if he wasn't a pastor. She was just so...good. Good all around, so pure. She is truly a beautiful person. Her soul just shines through this novel.

Daniel, I liked him from the first words that come out of his mouth. Even though he comes off as arrogant and kind of an ass. I knew he really wasn't an ass. I wanted to hug him everytime something bad happened to him. He is a great, strong character. A perfect fit for the pure Grace.

I'm excited for December for the second novel in this series! Also it has the possibility of being made into a movie, so that is very, very exciting! Despain creates a dark paranormal romance that grips you from the first page.
